Vick watched Ophelia slam the door behind her and grinned at the display of temperament from her. She was an incredible woman in so many ways. Not only was she strong enough to deal with him, she was utterly gorgeous on the inside as well as the outside. As dinner had progressed, he didn’t realize just how fascinated he was by her until he’d actually had the time to sit down and talk with her.

She wasn’t a conquest like she’d claimed.

Ophelia was everything.

While plying them with wine or a fancy meal worked with other women, he would need to be on his ‘A-game’ to truly reach the prickly woman on the inside. There was something about her that drove him crazy and he knew that winning her heart would be a sheer thing of beauty.

Picking up the fur that he’d wrapped around her shoulders, he chuckled lightly. The chase was on, and he couldn’t wait to engage in the next mental battle with the lovely curator. Testing the doorknob, he was grateful she wasn’t spiteful or mean, because she could have easily locked him outside to teach him a lesson. Stepping into the house, he was faced with the endless silence once again and sighed heavily. Tonight had been the best evening he’d had in such a long time, and he couldn’t wait to see what tomorrow would bring.
